The Dr Blake Mysteries is an original, period murder mystery series, starring one of Australia’s favourite, most versatile actors Craig McLachlan as the maverick town doctor Lucien Blake – a risk-taker, he’s impulsive and not afraid to upset the status quo.

Dr Lucien Blake left Ballarat as a young man. But now he finds himself returning to take over his dead father’s medical practice. And one of the unwanted duties his father left him is the on-call role of police surgeon.

Set in the gothic gold rush town of Ballarat in 1959. The wealth that built its grand architecture is long gone – but not the mysteries, murder and deceit that linger beneath the surface of its faded glory.

Starring Craig McLachlan as Dr Lucien Blake and Nadine Garner as his housekeeper/receptionist Jean joined by Joel Tobeck (Sons of Anarchy, Tangle), Cate Wolfe (Australia on Trial) and Rick Donald (Blood Brothers, Underbelly).

The Doctor Blake Mysteries- Season 2

Having returned from Singapore after being reunited with his daughter, Doctor Lucien Blake arrives back in Ballarat only to be faced with some of the most challenging crimes he’s ever had to unravel. He is also forced to say goodbye to some old friends and welcome some interesting newcomers into his life.
Throughout the series, Blake is swiftly drawn into the world of rock and roll, local politics, the arts and the Catholic Church, among others. Blake is as cunning as ever as he cleverly untangles crimes to get to the truth.
Again, nothing is sacred and no-one is safe.

The Doctor Blake Mysteries- Season 3

Doctor Lucien Blake is back, but Ballarat is no longer the safe haven he has come to call home. A new Chief Superintendent is on the way, a man who will not be won over by the Doctor’s strange but effective methods as Police Surgeon. There is a lingering awkwardness with Jean, his assistant and housekeeper, and a new mystery that goes back almost 40 years, a cold case that will cut to the very heart of Blake. There will be murder and intrigue, police politics and espionage. Rowing on Lake Wendouree, echoes of the Eureka Rebellion, the Stolen Generation and the mysteries of the Masonic lodge. Mysteries that, as always, only Doctor Blake can solve.
