BAFTA Scotland Win for Synchronicity Films and December Media

Hot off the back of an Emmy Award nomination for lead actress Jenna Coleman, ‘The Cry” produced by Melbourne’s December Media with UK production partner, Synchronicity Films, has taken out the Scottish BAFTA for Best Scripted Television. The four-part drama, directed by Glendyn Ivin is also currently in the running for eight AACTA nominations in Australia. 

Written by Jacquelin Perske and based on the novel of the same name by Helen FitzGerald, The Cry also stars Ewen Leslie and Asher Keddie, along with Stella Gonet, Sophie Kennedy, Markella Kavenagh, Alex Dimitriades, Shareena Clanton and Shauna Macdonald.It’s a harrowing psychological rollercoaster about the disappearance of a baby from a small coastal town in Australia.

The Cry premiered on BBC1 and ABC TV and is distributed by Sundance TV.
